Hair professional Sam shows you step-by-step on how to create a blended sunset look using Directions colours.

A Directions take on sunset shades

Since the trend of sunset hair started, we at Directions can't get enough of it. And with the magical combinations that this blend can create, we can see from social media that you can't get enough of it either! Whether you're a client or colourist, we know this is a look that we need to see more of from you this summer.

So, we're here to help, with our first ever masterclass...

Meet hair professional Sam Gaut, in his home at Perry Browns Salon. Sam and model Julie are here to show you how to blend 3 season-worthy shades in the recommended way for Directions' cruelty-free hair colours. Talking you through step-by-step on how to get the best possible ombré technique and the products you need to do so.

Without further ado, grab your notepad and pen and get watching:

A vivid combo for the hot summer months

Safe to say we're obsessed with the results that Sam's achieved and how our vegan, conditioning formula really gave Julie's hair a silky-soft finish.

Each top tip and recommendation Sam's given is key in achieving a successful sunset blend. So if you're feeling inspired to try this yourself, you can refer to our How-To Guides for easy reading access.

The three featured shades of Apricot, Rose Red and Violet are perfect in creating a beautiful, vivid combo, but with our range of 46 bright and bold colours, there are endless complementary shades that you can choose from.

Just remember: start with your lighter shade at the root and work your way down to the darkest shade at the ends of the hair, to lower the risk of colour bleeding.
